The Whittier housing market stayed active in August, with plenty of movement on both the buying and selling sides. There were 137 active listings across the city, giving buyers a wide range of options while keeping sellers motivated to stand out with strong pricing and presentation.

The median listing price came in at $869,000, while the median sold price edged slightly higher at $880,000. This tells us that many homes are not only priced right but also drawing serious buyer interest, often selling at or above asking. For sellers, that’s a good sign that the market is rewarding well-positioned properties.

On average, homes are selling at $604.16 per square foot, which reflects the solid value buyers place on Whittier homes. Even with steady prices, buyers are still moving quickly — the average time on market is just under 20 days. That means when the right property hits the market, it doesn’t sit for long.

In August alone, 45 homes closed, showing that demand remains steady despite more inventory to choose from. Buyers benefit from having options, but competition for well-priced homes is still strong. Sellers can feel confident knowing serious buyers are out there and ready to act.

Whether you’re thinking about making a move soon or just keeping an eye on the numbers, Whittier’s market continues to show both strength and opportunity.
